Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Review

Hey Guys, here's my multiplayer review of the recent release of the game  Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 by Treyarch and publisher Activision.

Before I begin, I want to let you know I'm not the biggest fan of Call of Duty( Never bought MW 2.5( 3), and Black Ops sucked). I'm not being paid to offer a bullshit review of how "great" this game is and how more innovative they have become- Call of Duty innovation?! Ha!- especially when it's just Call of Duty 4 and the last game they released regurgitated every year. Anyway, I'll offer a nice glimpse of what I feel so far about the multiplayer exclusively as I have not played the Campaign at all and only briefly touched the Zombies to not give it a fair review.

After picking up this game after trying to get Assassins Creed: III from Walmart for 40$( which was sold out) along with Max Payne: 3 by developer Rockstar for 15$ I decided to grab this game because of pressure from the usual Call of Duty Game when it comes out. "It's so good." "You'll love it." "It's like Battlefield, Try It!" "They did so much."

To be honest
, I was actually surprised upon starting the game and heading to multiplayer. Now, it's not like they changed the game up as they did with Call of Duty : 4, I'll highlight what they have done and what I think about it.

First off, they now allow you to make classes using their new Pick 10 system which allows the player to choose "10 points" on a class using perks such as Overkill, etc. to allow you to use primary weapons as secondaries, adding more attachments, dual perks, etc. Honestly, I think this is a nice feature allowing freedom to change what YOU want in your class. You can go with just a knife and make a class centered around that. It's a nice thing and allows you more control over your character.

They re-skinned the famous Nuketown from their last installment Call of Duty: Black Ops and renamed it Nuketown 2025. Here's a picture of it below:

Same old, same old.
They now put in something called Scorestreaks instead of the usual Killstreaks, although me and my friends still call it that. I like this feature as well as it forces people to camp less and capture objectives and such more. It's a plus and I'm glad they added it. Now your streaks are based on Score and not Kills so it's now possible for someone to just capture objectives and get streaks. It's a plus, but camping is as it has always been.

Multi-Team

I really like this game mode as it incorporates a little bit of Teamwork with your friends that was not present in Call of Duty at all. You have a team of 3 and you go against two other teams of 3 making a total of 9 players. This is pretty fun and allows for a more focused method of gameplay as opposed to the usual "Lone Wolf" gameplay style Call of Duty has glorified. Another plus.

Hardpoint

Another game mode that is similar to Headquarters but requiring people to be in a specific area to get points for it. Also when you die, you can respawn and head back into the fight. Constant action as people need to fight over the point and stay in the guided lines to capture it versus Headquarters where people could capture it and go camp someplace. I like this as well.

Now moving onto the attachments and things they have added.
The perks are the same as always just with different names.
UAV, Counter UAV, and VSAT ( Blackbird) allow you to get points towards your streaks everytime an enemy is killed while you have it up encouraging people to use them more.
Now let's move on to what makes me annoyed.

Target FinderThe dumbest, stupidest, lamest, gayest scope in all of Call of Duty history. it's a scope that lights up enemies with a diamond around them just by aiming at them. It pisses me off getting killed by someone using this scrub scope as it takes absolutely no sense of skill to use it, Call of Duty in general doesn't require any skill at all.

MMS
This scope is actually alright. It allows you to see from a certain distance enemies through walls. I know what you're thinking, but it's not like you can shoot people through walls with it (you already can). It's good as it shows where campers are in the building if you didn't need the constant UAV to tell you that.

The weapons, most of them are new and the weapons are actually pretty good. Now in Call of Duty, there are always overpowered guns that everyone uses those being the PDW-R, Vector, MP7, and the like that decimates any enemies that come towards you. Perks such as Slight of Hand from previous games are now readily available as attachments to your guns in the essence of QuickDraw and FastMag.

Well, now for the rating of this game.

Rating : 8/10
Graphics: no comment; the same.
Gameplay: Same.
Features: Nothing really different.
Modes: a few new ones

That's what this game deserves. Honestly, if you're a Call of Duty fan or used to be like myself. This game could revive that way you used to feel for a while, playing with friends like old times. It's fun and a decent game far from what I expected.

Well, that's my first Video Game review. This is TechFate. Thanks for Reading!

Rockstar offering free t-shirts with GTA: V Pre-orders

Rockstar Games will be offering people who pre-order Grand Theft Auto: V from the Rockstar Warehouse.
The shirts are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. This promotion is only availaible at the present time for those that reside in North America, other territories and areas will receive similar promotions as well, but they have not announced these promotions yet.

Grand Theft Auto V is coming out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, while PC players petition to ask Rockstar to release the game for them.

I have to pre-order this game. I have not yet and I have to get right on that haha.

Support for PC Port of Grand Theft Auto: V gains 100,000+ supporters

A petition signed by over 100,000 individuals calls for Grand Theft Auto: V due for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles to be released for PC as well. With Grand Theft Auto this is not unusual as Grand Theft Auto: IV was released 6 months after the console versions were shipped. PC players are up in arms about this and Rockstar has taken it into "consideration" for the Wii U as well.

I support this to be released for PC as well as us console gamers. I play Xbox 360 and love it  ( not at the moment; my dad took it away for an obscene to me but reasonable cause for him) after I stayed up playing Call of Duty: Black Ops II a few nights ago till 4 in the morning!(Damn; I couldn't sleep =/)
Anyway, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was a masterpiece and this game looks like it might exceed that. I miss the mods on PC on that game and the endless fun I had having CJ in a catwoman suit with max fatness and an afro( Pretty cool!). The car mods and all make PC GTA beyond words fantastic.

Keep your eyes on this guys.

Obama's Photo a Social Media Craze

This Photo uploaded from Barack Obama's Twitter account last night might just be THE MOST shared Social Media photo ever. Yesterday, President Obama uploaded this photo with the caption "Four More Years" attached to it. Just moments after News outlets declared President Barack Obama winning re-election over Republican challenger Miit Romney. As of 11:30 AM Today, the crazed photograph has been retweeted over 675,000 times, defeating a tweet by pop star Justin Bieber making it the most popular tweet in Twitter's    History.
On Facebook, It received over 400,000 shares and over 3.3 million likes on Facebook, destroying records held by Mark Zuckerberg's wedding photo in May, and a photo of a glass of beer, a tribute to a fallen sailor.

Congratulations to Barack Obama on re-election and hopefully these next four years are great for America!

Just Some Thoughts..

Did you guys know they were electric ambulances in the 1900s?!

I learned about it last year in U.S. History II, Crazy Stuff. To even think we had electric automobiles 100 years ago and the huge corporate gas companies buried the plans to these? Imagine what we'd have right now.

We'd have hover cars, robots in our houses, and we would be so much more advanced. Shame the qualities humans that hold us back. Greed, jealousy, anger, and other qualities that make our people not be at their best. Kind of makes me wonder what America would be right now. Kids in the 1960s and such thought that we would have hover cars by the 2000s.

I could have a talking house and be able to fly to school like The Jeffersons- yes, that cartoon with all the futuristic stuff in it. Life would be so much easier right now. We could already have colonies on Mars and underwater, replenish our food supplies, I don't know! The Possibilities are endless.

I wish that our emotions and characteristics- our negative qualities- didn't hold us back like this. We are advancing much more than I ever thought we would, iPhones, iPads, Electric Cars, etc. But Guys, Imagine if we continued from Electric Cars from the 1900s when McKinley, a U.S. President was assassinated at the Worlds' Fair and his Vice President Theodore Roosevelt took his place. What would happen guys?

Did you also know; There was a guy that invented a car that could operate SOLELY on Water- Yes, Good Old H20. Word is he was mysteriously poisoned at a dinner and the plans he made could not be found. The Gas Companies prevented this from being made, why so? They would not make any money! Greed at its finest, leads to shortcomings like these. :( ( I could have a Water Car right now).

Apple seems very unlikely to approve Google Maps App, reports claim

People at Google who are working on the dedicated application say they are "not optimistic" that Apple will approve the software for iOS, according to the Guardian. It Seems, Google Maps, might not be getting into the App Store that is the download center of Apple.
Competition between the two companies has become more sour as Apple tried to release its version of its own Maps software, Apple Maps- a horrendous map software by the way- to try and replace Google Maps on iOS 6. Apple also left behind Google's YouTube Application yet it accepted another YouTube based application. Weird.

What Maps Application would Apple approve then? I speculate apps like MapQuest would be approved if Google Maps was denied. Apple has time to think about this however. Google Maps might not be done until later this year. Interestingly enough, Google Maps is still accessible from the iOS browser.

I think Cook, the new CEO of Apple disapproves of competition unlike Steve Jobs' did, who encouraged it. My honest opinion, Competition is good as it brings out the best of companies. Let's hope Google Maps gets approved.

3 Million iPad 4th Gen and iPad Minis Sold in 3 Days!

I found this on TechCrunch. Check it Out Guys! Cannot Believe 3 Million were sold already, seeing Apple's success, this should not be a surprise.

From TechCrunch

Apple has just announced that the iPad mini and 4th generation iPad, both of which debuted on October 23 in San Francisco, have just topped 3 million sales in 3 days.
The smaller, lighter tablet had been rumored for years, yet its arrival was somewhat overshadowed by Hurricane Sandy devastating the North East. And the 4th gen iPad came as a bit of a surprise, though it was also rumored prior to launch.
On the November 2 launch date, a week after pre-orders began, lines weren’t quite as long as they have been for other Apple products, despite having two new models on sale.
Still, Apple has managed to sell a whopping 3 million of both devices in a very short period of time. For reference, Asus has said that the company sells around 1 million Nexus 7 tablets per month.
At the same time, this isn’t exactly the level of opening day, weekend, or week sales we usually see out of Apple. Apple’s 3rd generation iPad, however, sold 3 million on its own during its opening weekend last March, so this time around two separate device lines are splitting the same number of sales. The iPhone 5 had 2 million pre-orders in 24 hours, and sold 5 million in the first weekend.
Apple likely won’t break out sales by device type, but we’ll see if analysts or supply chain information provides a better breakdown.

Mercury iOS Browser Review

 Hey Guys,
Going to do my first Review on this blog by reviewing this iOS alternative to Safari, Mercury.

Let me tell you, Mercury is amazing. I have used Safari for a while in the past and was disappointed by its near-sluggish performance when dealing with multiple tabs. It would lag and would not give me the optimal browsing experience that I would want. That all changed when I downloaded Mercury from the App Store.

It allows Multi-Touch Gestures- with 2 fingers at the bottom or top of a page, you can move to that page easily! How Awesome is that? Making Navigating a page much easier than Safari, but that's not all.

Performance.
The Speed is much faster than Safari.
Webpages load much faster than Safari does and it handles multiple tabs with ease.

Elegance.
The Browser itself is beautiful, such a nice touch.
A change of Themes is allowed, allowing a small but very great choice of a few themes to change the look.
Everything is very organized, unlike Safari, you can delete history right in the browser.

Features.

Bookmarks+ History- Right in the Browser!
Private Mode- Allows you to surf on the browser without saving any history..
Brightness- Making the Browser itself more brighter or less brighter.
Font Size- For Those who have trouble seeing, you can make the font on the browser + or -
Download- I haven't tried this yet, but it seems pretty useful. Downloading files on an iPhone makes it less tedious.
Print- This is pretty sweet! - There are apps on Cydia allowing you to Print but the browser can do so itself!
Sync- Between Your iPad and iPhone, flawlessly!
User Agent- This I Love! It Allows Mercury to "trick" other websites into thinking it's a desktop browser!

The Interface is not cluttered at all and very easy to grasp. This application is FREE on the App Store and I definitely, definitely, definitely advise that you guys go and download this! It's totally worth it.

This has been a review of the iOS Mercury Browser on Tech Fate, "the fast web browser for iOS".

Hurricane Sandy now delays the 2nd GTAV Trailer

Damn You Sandy. First, you land here right in New Jersey and knock out all of the power all over the neighborhood, and town around me except for the corner and the few houses I live by.
I think I never got my power taken away because I watch Spongebob when I can.

Thanks to the Power Outages in New York, Rockstar says that the 2nd trailer will now have a delay.
I'm kind of pissed as you readers know, I cannot WAIT until Grand Theft Auto: V comes out. I was playing GTA:IV again today, and cannot believe how fun that game is to this day. Hopefully soon this trailer comes out or I might start going a little insane. Haha.

Read another article from Gamespot below. ;)

From Gamespot

Mighty megastorm Hurricane Sandy not only is impacting Call of Duty and Guitar Hero, but also Grand Theft Auto V. In an update to Rockstar Games' website, the company confirmed that a second trailer for the upcoming open-world game has been delayed due to power outages at the firm's New York City office.
"We are working on a second trailer--unfortunately Hurricane Sandy has derailed our plans somewhat but we will have something to show soon," reads a line from the statement. "It's hard to be precise as we have no power whatsoever in our New York office. We hope everyone else in affected areas is doing okay."
Rockstar also confirmed that preorders for GTA V will begin November 5, and it appears some of the game's preorder incentives have leaked. Images posted to All Games Beta suggest Rockstar will offer a keychain image viewer (below) through which players can get a closer look at some of the game's locations. Additional promotional material for GTAV reveals these new game world locations, including the Vespucci Canals, Zancudo River, and Vinewood Hills.
Lastly, the same site also acquired new high-resolution art for GTAV rumored to be offered as an additional preorder incentive. The art shows off scenes of Los Santos, including a woman being arrested (above) and a man holding back a fierce-looking dog.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas $250 Million Lawsuit Fails

I thought this was very interesting. With GTAV coming out soon, I honestly cannot wait for a return to San Andreas. San Andreas, the game itself was a masterpiece.
This guy, a Cypress Hill backup singer Michael "Shagg" Washington tried to sue Rockstar for using his life story and his physical appearance in the game. I think it's dumb. If anything, it's good for you as you're respected over millions of players of this game who know the character was modeled after you. Infact, I did not after reading this article from GameSpot. Check it out Below.

From GameSpot

Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has won a lawsuit over Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, writes The Hollywood Reporter. An appellate court judge on Wednesday denied Cypress Hill backup singer Michael "Shagg" Washington's claims that Rockstar used his life story and physical appearance as a basis for protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson.
Washington sued Take-Two in 2010 for $250 million, alleging that during the course of the game's development, he met with Rockstar to discuss details regarding his former life as a gang member. He even provided the company with a photo of himself and his name appears in the GTA: San Andreas credits.
However, a judge did not find this to be enough, and a California appeals court has concurred. Washington's principal problem was that he could not prove it was his likeness that appeared in San Andreas. The judge said, "Plaintiff is relying entirely on CJ's physical appearance in the game, but that appearance is so generic that it necessarily includes hundreds of other black males."
Additionally, the judge ruled that even if Rockstar did base CJ on Washington, it would have been protected as transformative fair use. This is an argument based on the fact that the First Amendment allows existing materials, including images, to be used so long as they are amended enough for a new purpose.
"Washington has presented no evidence demonstrating that the plot or characters of GTA: San Andreas have any relevance to his life or his purported fame," a statement from the decision reads.

No More Emoji Apps on the App Store. Why Apple?

Hey Guys, something interesting for you iOS users out there, myself included. Due to the recent release of iOS 6, Apple has now stated they are going to remove all emoji apps off of the app store? Why?They claim that iOS 6 now offers support to ALL users now, even though iOS 5 had Emoji support as well. I had my Father's old iPhone 3 when he got a Blackberry Torch ( he hated that phone; I kind of did as well), and due to a Jailbroken iPhone- the possibilities are endless people, for example Pokemon!- I had Emojis on iOS3 but besides the point. This is a letter all these Emoji App owners are getting.
Hello [redacted],
We are writing to let you know your app, [redacted], has been removed from the App Store because it is no longer needed to unlock Emoji.
Since iOS 6 now provides Emoji support to all users, your app is no longer in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines
2.12 Apps that are not very useful, are simply web sites bundled as apps, or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected
If you have questions about the removal of your application, please contact App Review at appreview@apple.com. Please include the App ID and the name of your application in your email.
Thank you and best regards,
App Review

With Over 1,000+ Emoji Apps in the App Store, Apple is probably still in the process of removing all these Emoji Apps. I'll miss you Emoji; don't worry you're still on my phone always ;).

Lawyer for Paul Ceglia in Facebook Fraud Case Wants Out!

- I've heard about this story on National Public Radio (NPR) last week when I was driving myself home from High School. Initially, I thought Zuckerberg himself was being charged for fraud which I found outlandishly absurd. Imagine if that was the case, haha.
Anyway, this guy named Paul Ceglia tries to claim he deserves a piece of Zuckerberg's very successful- although their stocks do not show the same revelation Facebook, Inc.
The Lawyer representing him, Dean Boland a New York Lawyer - Yes, same state I was born inwants out. He claims its not because of Ceglia is actually guilty of fraud, yet it kind of seems like it. He's not the only one. There's a ton of lawyers of Ceglia who dropped out of this case since it began in 2010.
He could face, Ceglia over 40 years in prison for fraud.
Read the LA Times Article Below. -

Source: LA Times
"The New York man facing federal charges that he attempted to defraud Mark Zuckerberg and the company Zuckerberg founded Facebook Inc. may have lost yet another lawyer.Dean Boland, who is representing Paul Ceglia in a civil lawsuit that federal prosecutors allege is fraudulent, has filed a motion in U.S. District Court in Buffalo to withdraw as Ceglia's counsel. He is one in a long line of lawyers who have withdrawn from the case since it was first filed in 2010.In the motion, Boland insisted his reasons for withdrawing "have nothing to do with any belief by the undersigned that plaintiff is engaged in now or has been engaged in during the past, fraud regarding this case."In an email, Boland said: "The motion speaks for itself." A Facebook spokesman declined to comment.Last week federal prosecutors charged Ceglia with engaging in a multimillion-dollar scheme to defraud Facebook and its founder, the latest bizarre twist in Ceglia’s legal odyssey that has dragged the social networking giant through years of legal proceedings. Ceglia, 39, has never backed down from his contention that he is entitled to half of Zuckerberg's stake in Facebook.Zuckerberg agreed in 2003 to perform programming work for Ceglia's business Streetfax.com to earn money while he was a Harvard University student. Facebook denied Ceglia's claim that Zuckerberg gave Ceglia a 50% stake in Facebook in exchange for $1,000 in start-up money. Facebook launched in 2004. Facebook has asked the federal judge in Buffalo to dismiss Ceglia's case.Ceglia's allegations were met with skepticism because of a conviction for possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms in 1997 and fraud allegations involving his wood-pellet business. He became more credible when DLA Piper, the nation's largest law firm, took on his case, but it soon withdrew from the case. Further doubt was cast by the revolving door of lawyers Ceglia hired to represent him in the lawsuit against Facebook.Ceglia was arrested at his Wellsville, N.Y., home Friday on suspicion of mail and wire fraud. He is being held in custody. An investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service concluded that Ceglia had doctored, fabricated and destroyed evidence to support allegations in the lawsuit he filed against Facebook and Zuckerberg in 2010, according to a complaint unsealed Friday.Manhattan U.S. Atty. Preet Bharara accused Ceglia of seeking a "quick payday" and attempting to perpetrate a "massive fraud."If convicted on one count of mail fraud and one count of wire fraud, Ceglia could face up to 40 years in prison."
